In the first two months of pregnancy there’s really no sign to the world I’m carrying a precious life in me. There were times in the subway, especially when I was exhausted (as you do get tired more easily when you’re pregnant), I really wished I had a badge to declare I was pregnant and should be given a seat.
Once the bump was clearer (unfortunately at the end of the second trimester), people were quicker to give me a seat. But during the ambiguous months it was funny to see some people do a double take and wonder what kind of call they should make – was I pregnant of just fat?
With a bulging and way heavy tummy at 33 weeks now, I’ve no guilt whatsoever being seated even when a really old person comes along. I’d be crazy to!
